I don’t like to make premature announcements, so I won’t. Instead I thought I’d amuse you with an old track I found. It’s is the original live version of the track that got released on All the Wrong Places as “Badhairday“. Originally it was titled “Bad Loop Likes My Hairdo”… really. At the time (around 2007) I was doing live sets with my mate Bad Loop and I made a track that with cheeky speech synth lines including goofy rhymes like “bad loop likes my hairdo, man i don’t know what to do…” really. You know, just to annoy and confuse him during a set. Unfortunately this version has the speech synth glitched out as it’s taken from a set that I played without bloop (sorry I tried to find the original original but couldn’t!) but nevertheless it’s a simple fun track with that bubbly arp synth and a bouncy bassline that was not used in the released version. Back to the premature announcements I don’t like to make. I’m afraid announcing things like “OMG JUSTIN BIEBER CONFIRMED TO COLLAB ON THE NEXT ALBUM!” if it’s not 110% set will just jinx projects from never getting finished (which might not actually be a bad thing if THAT was the announcement). So I’ll just say, things are happening in the background and new material is piling up.
On the other hand, one project that IS 100% finished and actually out already is Dewtone Recordings Foundations. It’s a compilation of the favorite tracks on the excellent Dewtone Radio and I am lucky to have two tracks featured which are Between Stations and Himanka. The tracks have been completely remastered for the compilation which is a nice bonus. Hamish Birt even produced a lovely promo video for Himanka.
